You can easily prune young plants, which will boost their density over time. Older Bottlebrushes can be pruned in stages during their growing season, which lasts from spring until september.

This plant is not well known for its winterhardiness. It is best kept protected, preferably inside a greenhouse, once temperatures go below 0. Keeping this plant in a sheltered place is also better for the Bottlebrush's health.
