Fargesia nitida Great Wall is a beautiful, non-invasive bamboo with an upright growth. Great Wall reaches a height of 3 metres tall and 1 metre wide. The leaves are greyish-green colour and the stems are green-purple. It has a full crown causing the bamboo to sometimes hang more, creating a bushy look. It is suitable for various applications and locations, for example as a solitary or hedge in a shady location. The Great Wall is not named such for no reason: it is extremely well suited as a hedge to create privacy. Just like other Fargesia bamboos, it is a hardy and evergreen plant and thus perfect for your garden. Prune the bamboo if you want to keep its upright shape. The best time for pruning is May-June
